The most fundamental characteristic of Arnold's spirituality is an awareness of God's abiding presence, which led him to be open to the Spirit. The author reflects on the mystery of the indwelling God as Arnold lived it. Three experiences are identified that played a significant rote in his development. He shows how Arnold's special love for the Holy Spirit led him to grow in his commitment to Jesus and his mission, which is illustrated by Arnold's attitude to religious life, the Eucharist, and the Word of God. It led him to grow as a person and to find the radiance of God's face in nature, and especially to appreciate the dignity of every person. The author offers some reflections on what this could mean for us today, especially in the light of recent general chapters. He sees it as a call to imitate Christ in missionary contemplation, compassion, and conversion, as we promote the communion o fall.
Der Grundzug von Arnold Janssens Spiritualität ist das Bewusstsein der Gegenwart Gottes, die ihn dahin führte, offen für den Geist zu sein. Der Autor reflektiert über das Geheimnis der Einwohnung Gottes, wie Arnold es lebte. Er identifiziert drei Erfahrungen, die eine entscheidende Rolle in seiner Entwicklung spielten. Er sieht es als Berufung der Steyler Missionare und Schwestern, Christus zu folgen in missionarischer Kontemplation, in Mitgefühl und Bekehrung, indem sie Gemeinschalt unter allen Menschen fördern.
La característica más fundamental de la espiritualidad de Arnoldo Janssen es la conciencia de la presencia permanente de Dios, que lo llevó a estar abierto al Espíritu. El autor reflexiona sobre el misterio de Dios en el alma asi como lo vivió Amoldo. El identifica tres experiencias que jugaron un papel decisivo en su desarrollo. Señala como el amor especial de Arnoldo al Espíritu Santo lo hizo crecer en su compromiso con Jesús y con su misión que aparece a las claras en su actitud frente a la vida religiosa, a la Eucaristía y a la Palabra de Dios. Lo hizo crecer como persona, encontrar el reflejo del rostro de Dios en la naturaleza y, ante todo, respetar la dignidad de cada ser humano. El autor reflexiona sobre lo que esto podría significar para nosotros hoy, especialmente a la luz de los últimos Capítulos Generales. Lo ve como una llamada a imitar a Cristo en la contemplación misionera, en compasión y conversión, procurando la unión de todos.
