Die Zeugnisse christlicher Kunst in China. Ein Überblick

Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über wichtige Epochen christlichen Kunstschaffens in China. Er behandelt u. a. die Stele von 781 sowie christliche Grabsteine und Kreuze aus der Nestorianerzeit (7.-9. Jh. mit einer "Nachblüte" vom 11.-13. Jh.); Kirchbauten der Franziskanermission (13./14. Jh.); in China für den Export produzierte christliche Kunstgegenstände sowie das Wirken des Malers Giuseppe Castiglione SJ am chinesischen Kaiserhof in der Zeit der Jesuitenmission (16.-18. Jh.); die Malschule für christliche Kunst an der katholischen Furen Universität (1930er und 1940er Jahre) sowie neues Schaffen chinesischer christlicher Künstler nach 1979.


This contribution gives an overview of important periods of Christian art in China. It treats among others the stela of 781 as well as tombstones and crosses from the Nestorian period (7th - 9th c., with a "second bloom" 11th - 13th c.); church buildings dating to the Franciscan missions (13th/14th c.); Christian objets d'art produced in China for export and the work of the painter Giuseppe Castiglione S.J. at the Imperial Court during the time of the Jesuit missions (16th - 18th c.); the Christian school of painting at the Catholic Furen University (1930s and 1940s); and more recent work of Chinese Christian artists after 1979.


El artículo presenta una idea general de las épocas importantes del arte cristiano en China. Entre otros menciona la estela del año 781 y las lápias y cruces de la época Nestoriana (siglos 7-9 con un florecimiento tardío de los siglos 11-13); iglesias de la misión franciscana (siglos 13/14); objetos artísticos cristianos producidos en China para la exportación, y la obra del pintor Giuseppe Castiglione SJ en la corte imperial durante la época de la misión jesuítica (siglos 16-18); la escuela de pintura de arte cristiano de la Universidad Católica Fu Yen (años 1930 y 1940); y el trabajo reciente de artistas cristianos chinos después de 1979.
