This article begins with a reflection on the so-called Anthropos Tradition of the SVD. In the light of that tradition the author looks at the changes brought about by the post-Vatican missiological reflection and questions the rejection of the term gentes as a starting point for an update of the missionary identity of the SVD. In the light of present-day developments in the theology of revelation the author presents an anthropological understanding of the gentes concept and sketches an identity for the SVD today, suggesting new formulations for its Constitutions.
Der Artikel behandelt zunächst die so genannte „Anthropos-Tradition“ der SVD. Angesichts dieser Tradition betrachtet der Autor die durch die post-vatikanischen missiologischen Überlegungen bewirkten Veränderungen und hinterfragt die Ablehnung des Begriffs gentes als Ausgangspunkt für eine Erneuerung der missionarischen Identität der SVD. In Anbetracht der gegenwärtigen Entwicklungen in der Offenbarungstheologie stellt er ein ethnologisches Verständnis des gentes-Konzepts dar, skizziert eine Identität für die SVD heute und schlägt neue Formulierungen ihrer Konstitutionen vor.
El artículo comienza reflexionando sobre la tradición del “Anthropos” dentro de la SVD. A la luz de aquella tradición el autor examina los cambios producidos por las reflexiones misionológicas posconciliares, y cuestiona la impugnación del concepto de “gentes” para una renovación de la identidad misionera de la SVD. Teniendo en cuenta la evolución actual de la teología de la revelación el autor presenta una comprensión etnológica del concepto de “gentes”, esboza una identidad renovada para la SVD actual, y propone una redacción reformada de sus Constituciones.
