Blick auf 25 Jahre Tätigkeit der Steyler Missionare in der Provinz Zambales, wo sich die Nationale Philippinische Kirche – der Aglipayanismus – am Anfang des 19. Jh.s ausbreitete.
Seit 100 Jahren arbeiten die Steyler Missionare auf den Philippinen. Ein bisher nicht bearbeiteter Aspekt davon sind die 25 Jahre ihrer Tätigkeit in der Provinz Zambales, wo sich die Nationale Philippinische Kirche – der Aglipayanismus – am Anfang des 19. Jh.s ausbreitete. Zwischen 1926 und 1951 haben 36 Steyler Missionare mit großem Eifer in Zambales gewirkt. Ihr Einsatz, besonders durch ihr Engagement in der Katechese, brachte reiche Frucht. Viele Einheimische, die die katholische Kirche verlassen hatten, kehrten wieder zu ihr zurück. Die Steyler hinterließen auch eine gut ausgebaute pfarrliche Infrastruktur, von der viele Um- und Neubauten Zeugnis ablegen.
In 2009 the Divine Word Missionaries look back on 100 years of service in the Philippines. One aspect of this history which has received but scant at-tention is the 25-year involvement of the SVD in the province of Zambales, where at the beginning of the 19th century the Philippine National Church – Aglipayism – had gained a large following. Between 1926 and 1951 thirty-six Divine Word Missionaries worked in Zambales. Their zeal especially in the area of catechetical instruction bore rich fruit: Many who had left the Catholic Church returned to the fold. The SVD also left behind a well developed parish infrastructure in the form of churches and rectories that had been repaired or erected.
Desde hace 100 años los Misioneros del Verbo Divino trabajan en las Filipinas. Un aspecto que hasta ahora casi no es mencionado ni tratado son los 25 años de su actividad en la Provincia de Zambales, donde la iglesia nacional de las Filipinas – el Aglipayanismo – se extendío al comienzo del siglo 19. Entre los años 1926 y 1951 trabajaron 36 Misioneros del Verbo Divino con gran afán en Zambales. Sus empeños especialmente en la catequesis producía muchos frutos. Mucha gente del pais que dejó la iglesia católica, regresó a ella. Los Misioneros del Verbo Divino dejaron también una estructura parroquial desarrollada que da testimonio a través de reconstrucciones y nuevos edificios.
En 2009, les missionnaires du Verbe divin célèbrent 100 ans de service aux Philippines. Un des aspects de cette histoire qui a peu retenu l’attention est l’engagement des SVD pendant 25 ans dans la province de Zambales où, au début du 19e siècle, l’Église nationale philippine de Gregorio Aglipay était florissante. Entre 1926 et 1951, trente six missionnaires du Verbe divin furent en poste dans la région de Zambales. Leur zèle, tout spécialement dans le domaine de l’instruction catéchétique, porta beaucoup de fruit : de nombreux catholiques qui avaient quitté l’Église rejoignirent le troupeau. Les SVD laissèrent aussi derrière eux une infrastructure paroissiale bien établie sous la forme d’églises et de presbytères qu’ils avaient construits ou réparés.
