Der Beitrag interpretiert einige der herausragenden Ereignisse von 1968 als Wendepunkte der westlichen Zivilisation. Die Fragen von Autorität und moralischen Normen, die Wirklichkeit verstanden in metaphysischen Begriffen oder unter technologischen Sichtweisen sowie die Bedeutung der Theologie spielen eine wichtige Rolle. Der Autor diskutiert die Implikationen des II. Vatikanischen Konzils und der Enzyklika Humanae Vitae mit ihren Konsequenzen. Schließlich setzt er auf eine Integrität begründet in den Kar-dinaltugenden, um eine bessere Welt zu ermöglichen.

This contribution interprets some of the outstanding events of 1968 as turning points for Western civilisation. The questions of authority and moral norms, reality understood in metaphysical terms or in a technological approach, and the role of theology figure prominently. The author discusses implications of the Second Vatican Council and the encyclical Humanae Vitae and their consequences. In the end, the author pleads for integrity based on the cardinal virtues in order to achieve a better world.

Este artículo interpreta algunos de los acontecimientos sobresalientes de 1968 como momentos decisivos de la civilización occidental. Para ello, los temas de autoridad y normas morales, la realidad comprendida en términos metafísicos o en perspectiva tecnológica así como el papel de la teología son importantes. El autor analiza las implicaciones del Concilio Vaticano II y de la encíclica Humanae Vitae y sus consecuencias. Finalmente, el autor aboga por la integridad basada en las virtudes cardinales para alcanzar un mundo mejor.

Cet article interprète quelques-uns des événements saillants de 1968 comme des tournants dans la civilisation occidentale. Les questions d’autorité et de normes morales, la réalité interprétée en termes métaphysiques ou dans une approche technologique et le rôle de la théologie y sont les points principaux. L’auteur développe les implications de Vatican II et de l’encyclique Humanae Vitae ainsi que leurs conséquences. À la fin, il plaide pour une intégrité basée sur les vertus cardinales en vue de bâtir un monde meilleur.
