The author shows how the primary task of an Indian Missiological Institute is to assist at the development of a missiology for India following the parameters spelt out by the New Testament, Vatican II and the recent Magisterium as well as responding to the Indian context contoured by its religiosity and massive poverty. In this process it can act as a forum for specialists to meet and also to bring together theoreticians and practitioners. Both in the evolution of theory and for its sweeping into the practical level the Institute has to depend on and interact with insightful missionaries. In all this it has to foster an ecumenical spirit.
Der Verfasser legt dar, daß es die Hauptaufgabe eines indischen missiologischen Instituts ist, zur Entwicklung einer indischen Missiologie beizutragen, die sich an den Texten des Neuen Testaments, des Zweiten Vatikanischen Konzils und des jetzigen Lehramts ebenso ausrichten muß wie am indischen Kontext von Religiosität und massiver Armut. In diesem Prozeß kann das Institut als Forum für Spezialistentreffen fungieren und auch Theoretiker und Praktiker zusammenbringen. Sowohl bei der Entwicklung der Theorie als auch bei ihrer Anwendung in der Praxis hängt das Institut von der Erfahrung und den Einsichten von Missionaren ab, mit denen es sich austauschen muß. Bei all dem muß es einen ökumenischen Geist pflegen.
El autor explica que la tarea principal de un instituto misionológico indio es contribuir al desarrollo de una misionología para la India, que debe atenerse a los textos del Nuevo Testamento, del Concilio Vaticano Segundo y del Magisterio actual, como también al contexto indio de religiosidad y de pobreza masiva. En este proceso el instituto puede actuar como foro para encuentros de especialistas y también para reunir a teóricos y prácticos. Tanto para el desarrollo de la teoría como para su aplicación en la práctica depende el instituto de misioneros conocedores con quienes tiene que intercambiarse. En todo esto tiene que fomentar un espíritu ecuménico.
