Numerous SVDs are actively involved in biblical pastoral ministry, and we identify the biblical apostolate as an SVD characteristic dimension. Is there then a particular way in which Divine Word Missionaries should read the Bible and do biblical ministry? Our reading of the Bible and our biblical ministry are properly SVD when they serve our missionary mandate and promote the fourfold prophetic dialogue. The Catholic Biblical Federation held its Sixth Plenary Assembly in Lebanon in September 2002. An examination of the CBF assembly's final Statement and a comparison with recent SVD documents offers some suggestions for an SVD reading of the Bible.

Die Katholische Bibelföderation hielt im September 2002 im Libanon ihre 6. Vollversammlung ab. Aus einer Untersuchung des Schlussdokuments dieser Versammlung und einem Vergleich mit jüngeren SVD-Dokumenten ergeben sich Vorschläge für einen SVD-spezifischen Umgang mit der Bibel.

La Lectura y el Apostolado Bíblico son específicos de la SVD cuando sirven a nuestro mandato misionero y promueven el cuádruple diálogo profetico. La Federación Bíblica Católica tuvo en Setiembre de 2002 su sexta Asamblea Plenaria en el Líbano. Haciendo un examen del documento final de aquella asamblea y una comparación con documentos recientes de la SVD pueden resultar sugerencias para una lectura de la Biblia específica de la SVD.
