Das vorliegende Heft hat zwei Schwerpunkte. Zum einen geht es um Aufsätze im Zusammenhang mit 40 Jahre Konzilstexte, die für das Missionsverständnis von Bedeutung sind. Hierbei geht es um die Themen Dialog und Inkulturation. Ein Beitrag setzt sich mit dem Gottesverständnis im Islam und im Christentum auseinander. Ein anderer Artikel befasst sich mit dem selten behandelten Thema des Dialogs mit „Naturreligionen“. Ein dritter Aufsatz behandelt das Thema Inkulturation im Alten Testament.

Der zweite Schwerpunkt bringt drei Beiträge aus Anlass des 100-jährigen Jubiläums der Zeitschrift „Anthropos“. In diesen Aufsätzen wird die Bedeutung der „Anthropos“-Arbeit für die Missionsarbeit sowie der „Anthropos“-Tradition für die SVD im Wandel der Zeit dargestellt. In einem dritten Beitrag geht es um die Bedeutung der Zeitschrift Anthropos für die Begegnung zwischen Religion und Kultur.

Der letzte Beitrag informiert über 40 Jahre Missionspriesterseminar in Tagaytay auf den Philippinen.

The present issue of “Verbum SVD” has two main foci. One is the 40th anniversary of the promulgation of the Council documents which are of particular relevance for the understanding of mission. The articles of this first part centre on dialogue and inculturation. One discusses the image of God in Islam and Christianity, another treats the seldom discussed dialogue with primal religions, a third inculturation in the Old Testament.

The second part presents three contributions written on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the journal Anthropos. They reflect on the importance of “Anthropos” for missionary work and of the “Anthropos” tradition within the SVD. The third article considers the significance of the journal for the encounter between religion and culture.

A final paper gives a short history of Divine Word Seminary at Tagaytay/ Philippines on the occasion of its 40th anniversary.
