Arnold Janssen – Gedanken zur Aus- und Weiterbildung

Arnold Janssen wurde in der Zeit, da er die Leitung in Steyl innehatte, gezwungen, sich ständig auf neue Leute und neue Situationen einzustellen. Die rasche Übernahme von Tätigkeiten in allen fünf Erdteilen erforderte ein stets neues Be- und Umdenken. Es genügte ihm nicht, sich selbst um eine ständige Auffrischung und Weiterbildung zu bemühen, sondern er leitete auch seine Mitarbeiter dazu an. Seine Briefe, vor allem an die Oberen, geben ein gutes Anschauungsmaterial für seine Sorge um gute Aus- und Weiterbildung.


As superior of the mission congregation he had founded, Arnold Janssen was continually obliged to adapt to new people and new situations. The rapid acceptance of fields of work in all five continents required incessant reflection and modification. Not content with constantly broadening his own knowledge, he instructed his missionaries to do likewise. His letters, especially those directed to superiors, provide excellent illustration of his interest in life-long formation.
