Interreligious Dialogue from the Perspective of the XVI General Chapter of the SVD

This paper presents some reflections on Interreligious Dialogue, seen from the SVD perspective after the XVI General Chapter. It begins by placing the dialogical concept in the framework of SVD ideological developments of the last years, especially after the General Chapter of 2000. Some quotations from SVD documents provide background to passages from the statement of the XVI General Chapter regarding Interreligious Dialogue. This allows the author to point out particular issues relevant for the SVD. The second section extends the SVD perspective. It points out the compatibility of Interreligious Dialogue with mission and tries to indicate the necessity of incorporating it into the SVD as whole.

Dieser Artikel bringt einige Überlegungen zum Interreligiösen Dialog aus der Sicht der SVD nach ihrem XVI. Generalkapitel (2006). Er stellt das Konzept des Dialogs in den Rahmen der Entwicklungen innerhalb der SVD in den letzten Jahren, und zwar speziell nach dem Generalkapitel von 2000. Einige Zitate aus SVD-Dokumenten liefern den Hintergrund für Passagen aus dem Schlussdokument des XVI. Generalkapitels in Bezug auf den Interreligiösen Dialog, anhand derer der Autor für die SVD besonders relevante Themen herausstellt. Im zweiten Teil wird die SVD-Perspektive erweitert. Er zeigt die Vereinbarkeit von Interreligiösem Dialog und Mission und versucht die Notwendigkeit der Integration dieses Dialogs für die gesamte SVD aufzuzeigen.

Este artículo trae algunas reflexiones sobre el diálogo interreligioso desde el punto de vista de la SVD después de su XVI Capítulo General (2006). Pone el concepto de diálogo en el marco de las evoluciones dentro de la SVD en los últimos años, especialmente después del Capítulo General de 2000. Algunas citas de los documentos de la SVD constituyen el fondo para las citas del documento final del XVI Capítulo General que se refieren al diálogo inter-religioso, y que usa el autor para destacar los temas más significativos para la SVD. En la segunda parte se amplía la perspectiva SVD. Señala la compatibilidad del diálogo interreligioso con la misión y trata de mostrar la necesidad de la integración de este diálogo para toda la SVD.
